Abstract: The worlds vineyards cover 10 million hectares. The insect pests attacking the different parts of grapevine in different regions are listed (with references) and discussed.
Orthoptera pests:
Barbitistes fischeri var. berenguieri, Ephippiger ephippiger, E. bitterensis, E. terrestris, Dociostaurus maroccanus, Locusta migratoria and Schistocerca peregrina (= S. gregaria) have been reported as polyphagous aerial pests of grape vine (Vitis vinifera) in southern Europe. L. migratoria and S. peregrina (= S. gregaria) are also recorded as grape vine pests in North Africa, and Miogryllus convolutus as a grape vine pest in South America.
