Harrisina metallica Stretch, 1885 - (western grapeleaf skeletonizer)
This moth is found is south-western North America and is considered a pest of grapevine. The larvae can cause defoliation of the vines. The combined effect of a tachinid parasitoid, introduced in the 1980s, and the Harrisina granulovirus has reduced the economic impact of this pest since the 1990s (e.g. see Stark et al., 1999).
