Chrysomelidae (leaf beetles)
This is one of the largest families of beetles with around 50,000 species. Both, the adults and the larvae are phytophagous and typically feed on leaves.
The family is closely related to the Cerambycidae. However, the species have antennae of only moderate length and the eyes do not surround the antennal base. The upper surface is typically shiny and often metallic. The larvae are usually short, convex and often coloured.
