Leptinotarsa Chevrolat, 1837
The genus includes the economically important Colorado potato beetle and around 40 other species, some of them minor crop pests. Among other characters, the species of Leptinotarsa can be separated from closely related genera by the structures of the pro- and mesosternum as well as the colour of the elytra.
