Cerambycidae (long-horned beetles)

The family contains more than 20,000 species and has a world-wide distribution. The adults can be large and colourful. They have long antennae, usually longer than the body, but at least two-thirds as long as the body. The antennae can be turned backwards. The larvae usually bore into wood or roots.
