Cantharellales

The fungal order Cantharellales is based on the group of edible mycorrhizal chanterelles (genus Cantharellus). Apart from other ectomycorrhizal and saprotrophic forms, the order also contains important plant pathogens. Taxonomically, the order is now characterized by DNA sequences.
