Pseudomonas Migula 1894
The genus contains about 200 species. They are Gram-negative, non-sporulating, rod-shaped and aerobic bacteria which can have several polar flagellae. They produce a green diffusible, fluorescent pigment on certain media. Current identification methods include analyses of 16S rRNA and fatty acids as well as classical physiological and biochemical tests. While the genus includes a number of important plant pathogens like Pseudomonas syringae others are human and animal pathogens.
