Fomitiporia Murrill 1907

This genus of wood-decaying fungi contains more than 10 species. Several are considered to be plant pathogens, infecting the trunk of grapevine, fruit and nut trees as well as other trees like conifers. Taxonomically, Fomitiporia is closely related to the genus Phellinus and both genera differ mainly in their DNA sequence.
