Tomato yellow leaf curl viruses

This is a complex of genetically different viruses, causing the tomato leaf curl disease. The individual viruses are widely distributed and can cause outbreaks, among them, Tomato yellow leaf curl virus and Tomato yellow leaf curl Sardinia virus have been encountered most frequently. Resistant tomato cultivars have been developed, but genetic recombination of different strains can overcome the resistance.
