Polerovirus
This genus of plant viruses currently includes 19 species which resemble the Potato leafroll virus (PLRV). They have a world-wide distribution and can cause important diseases of crops. Apart from PLRV, viruses like Beet western yellows virus or Sugarcane yellow leaf virus result in substantial yield losses. The viruses are transmitted by aphids in a persistent manner and infect a large variety of crops, ranging from legumes to cereals to cucurbits.
