Stethorus gilvifrons (predator) (Mulsant 1850)
This tiny lady beetle is found in the Mediterranean region and western Asia. It feeds on various spider mites like Tetranychus, Oligonychus and Panonychus species as well as on other small insects like whiteflies or scale insects. It is of interest for augmentive biological control programs and mass-rearing methods using artificial diets are under development (e.g. see Ebrahimifar et al., 2020).
