Pinus (weeds) L. - (pines)

This genus of trees is widely distributed, especially in temperate regions. Pinus species are often planted as a source of timber. Several of them have been introduced into countries outside their native range and some of these have become invasive. For example, the native range of Pinus radiata is California (USA), but it has been planted in many other countries, including areas in the southern hemisphere, where it can have a significant impact on the biodiversity (Gómez et al., 2019).
