Phytophthora pini Leonian 1925
This oomycete is widely distributed and infects conifers, as well as a variety of other plants, for example those grown in horticulatural and ornamental nurseries. For a number of years, P. pini has been regarded as a synonym for Phytophthora citricola, but has been shown by Hong et al. (2011) to be a separate species. It has been also described a being similar to Phytophthora plurivora, but being able to tolerate higher temperatures (Funahashi & Parke, 2016).
