Phyllonorycter Hübner, 1822 - (tentiform leafminer moths)
This genus of leafminers contains about 400 species and is mainly found in temperate regions. The larvae are mostly monophagous or oligophagous and form blotch mines in the leaves. Typically only one larva per leaf reaches the adult stage. Some species are serious pests in orchards or forests. The adults are small, 4-8 mm long. Identification of the species is typically based on the structure of the male genitalia.
