Panicum miliaceum (weed) L. - (wild-proso millet)

Proso millet has been planted since prehistoric times. In North America wild, weedy biotypes have become problematic weeds, e.g. in maize or soybeans. These have developed a number of new characteristics, like dark or reddish seeds that go through a dormancy for several years.

For a review see Cavers & Kane , 2016.
