Neonectria neomacrospora (C. Booth & Samuels) Mantiri & Samuels 2001
This fungus is found in Europe and North America, where it causes canker and bark necrosis on fir and other conifers. Epidemic outbreaks might develop. The infections result in dead shoot tips, red flagging of branches and potentially dead trees. In Christmas tree plantations, the quality and value of infected trees is reduced.
