Inonotus rickii (L.) (Pat. 1908) D.A. Reid 1957 - (Inonotus heartrot)
This fungus is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions and causes Inonotus heartrot and canker on the trunk and branches of a large variety of broad-leaved trees. It produces both sexual fruiting bodies (basidiomes) and asexual structures which are soft cushion-shaped bodies, yellowish to red brown that release chlamydospores.
