Hordeum murinum glaucum (weed) (Steud.) Tzvelev - (smooth barley)

This grass is widely distributed and often an introduced species. It can be a weed in cereals, other crops and pastures. It is, for example, a problematic weed in cereals in parts of Australia. In pastures it is not eaten by domestic animals after flowering, because the spikes irritate the mouth of the animals. The plants grow to a height of up to 40 cm.
