Fusarium asiaticum O'Donnell, T. Aoki, Kistler & Geiser 2004
The fungus is widely distributed and a member of the Fusarium graminearum species complex. It was previously referred to as "lineage 8". Like other members of this complex it causes Fusarium head blight of cereals but also infects other crops.
