Erysiphe diffusa (Cooke & Peck) (Cooke & Peck) U. Braun & S. Takam. 2000 - (soybean powdery mildew)

This fungus is widely distributed and causes a powdery mildew disease on soybeans and other legumes. It has been also reported from other plants like papaya (e.g. Vielba-Fernández et al., 2019).

The conidia are formed singly and have an elliptical to cylindrical shape with a size of 25–60 × 13–20 µm and rounded ends (Braun et al., 2017). The cleistothecia have 7-30 branched appendages and contain 4-10 asci, each with 3-6 spores.
