Diaporthe vexans (Sacc. & P. Syd.) Gratz 1942

The fungus infects various plants. For example it causes fruit rot of eggplants in some regions (eggplant brown rot). It has been reported to be seed-borne and to remain viable in the soil and in plant debris for more than a year.
