Diaporthe sclerotioides (Kesteren) Udayanga 2013 - (black root rot of cucumber)

This fungus causes black root rot of cucurbits. It was first described from cucumber in the Netherlands but was later reported from various other countries and regions. It can cause serious losses in greenhouse-grown cucumbers but occurs also in field plantings. Root infections result in stunting and wilting of stem and leaves.
