Diaporthe cinerascens Sacc. 1882 - (fig canker)

The fungus is found in southern Europe and other regions. It causes fig canker and is believed to spread mainly via rain splashes to pruning wounds. Alpha conidia have a size of around 7-8 x 2½ µm.
