Diaporthe aspalathi Janse van Rensburg, Castlebury & Crous, 2006
The fungus causes southern stem canker of soybean and die-back of rooibos tea. It is closely related to Diaporthe phaseolorum, but has wider perithecia, longer and cylindrical asci, longer ascospores and only produces fusoid alpha-conidia (Santos et al., 2011).
