Coniella granati (Sacc.) Petrak & Sydow 1927

The fungus is widely distributed and causes rots of pomegranate fruits as well as leaf spots, crown rot and blight symptoms. It has been also reported to cause seedling blight of eucalypts. On pomegranate fruits, the disease starts as brown lesions which increase in size and finally result in fruit rot. The conidia are elliptical to spindle-shaped, hyaline without septa and typically 15-20 x 3-4 µm in size.
