Colletotrichum trifolii Bain 1906

The fungus causes anthracnose on alfalfa and clover. Symptoms are spots or sunken lesions with slightly raised margins on the stem, foliage and pods. The lesions enlarge and can cause the stems to bend. The disease can lead to significant yield losses.
