Cherry rusty mottle associated virus (CRMaV)

The virus is associated with the cherry rusty mottle disease, a graft-transmissible disease of sweet cherry (Prunus avium). The disease is characterized by chlorotic mottling of the basal leaves that drop prematurely, while the remaining leaves become mottled with bright yellow or red. Other Prunus species can also become infected. It is closely related to but distinct from Cherry green ring mottle virus and Cherry necrotic rusty mottle virus.
