Calonectria pseudoreteaudii L. Lombard, M.J. Wingf. & Crous 2010
This fungus has been described from south-eastern Asia, where it infects eucalypt and macadamia trees. On eucalypt trees infections cause leaf blight, shoot blight, tree death, and seedling rot (Wang & Chen, 2020). Eucalyptus grandis, E. tereticornis, and E. urophylla as well as various hybrids are susceptible to the fungus. Predominantly seedlings in nurseries and in the field are affected, with severe outbreaks developing in newly planted areas. On macadamia trees, the fungus has been described as causing brown lesions on the peel of infected fruit and up to 50% yield losses (Jiang et al., 2020).
It has been described by Lombard et al. (2010) as follows: "Stipa extensiones septatae, rectae vel flexuosae, 193–313 μm longae, ad septum apicale 5–6 μm latae, vesiculo anguste clavato, 3–5 μm diametro terminantes. Macroconidia cylindrica, apice rotundata, basi complanata, recta (88–)96–112(–119) × 7–9(–10) μm, 5–8-septata. Microconidia cylindrica, apice rotundata, basi complanata, (30–)34–54(–68) × 3–5(–6) μm, 1–3-septata, cum muco in glomerulis."
