Calonectria ovata D. Victor & Crous 1997
This fungus has been reported to cause leaf spot diseases on several Eucalyptus species in South America (El-Gholl et al., 1993). C. ovata has been described by Crous et al. (2019) as follows: "Perithecia solitary or in groups, orange, turning redbrown with age. Ascospores fusoid with rounded ends, slightly curved, sigmoid, 1–3(–7)-septate, not constricted at the septum, (35–)55–70(–90) × (4–)5–6 μm (av. = 60 × 5.5 μm). Vesicles ovate, 8–14 μm diam. Macroconidia straight or curved, (50–)65–80(–110) × 4–5(–6) μm (av. = 70 × 5 μm), 1(–3)-septate (up to 7-septate have been observed in old cultures)."
