Albonectria rigidiuscula (Berk. & Broome) Rossman & Samuels 1999

The fungus is widely distributed in tropical regions and infects mango, cacao as well as other crops. On cacao it causes abnormalities on the formation of flowers and affects fruit setting. It might affect more than half of the trees in a plantation. Similar symptoms can be caused by Lasiodiplodia theobromae and other fungal pathogens.
