Coniferiporia weirii (Murrill) L.W. Zhou & Y.C. Dai

This fungus infects western red cedar (Thuja plicata) in North America, non-cedar forms are now recognized to belong to the species Phellinus sulphurascens. Symptoms include brown staining of the wood and occasionally hollow trunks. Wood degradation by the fungus causes considerable economic losses.
