Uromyces pisi (DC.) G.H. Otth. 1863
This fungus causes rust diseases on leguminous crops like peas or Lathyrus. It is one of several species causing "pea rust". On peas the disease develops during the summer and can result in stunting and some yield losses. The uredinia develop on legumes mainly on the lower leaf surfaces with oval to spherical light brown urediniospores. Telia are darker brown. The alternate hosts are Euphorbia species on which aecia develop.
