Torymus beneficus (parasitoid) Yasumatsu & Kamijo, 1979
This wasp is found in Japan and neighbouring countries and is a parasitoid of the chestnut gall wasp, Dryocosmus kuriphilus and other Cynipidae. Morphologically it is very similar to Torymus sinensis, a species introduced into various countries against D. kuriphilus. In Japan, T. beneficus can interbreed with the introduced T. sinensis (Toda et al., 2000).
