Torymus Dalman, 1820
This genus contains more than 300 species of wasps which are ectoparasites of gall midges (Cecidomyiidae) or gall wasps (Cynipidae). They are monophagous or oligophagous, but a few are also phytophagous. Torymus sinensis is important as a parasitoid of the chestnut gall wasp and has been released into several countries.
