Thrips setosus Moulton 1928 - (Japanese flower thrips, light-brown soybean thrips)

The thrips is found in Japan, a pest of tobacco, tomato and other crops. It can transmit the Tomato spotted wilt virus. Diagnostic features are listed below according to Riley et al. (2011).

colour brown
antennae with 7 segments
2 pairs of long posteroangular setae
posterior margin of tergite VIII with
a complete row of long and
irregular microtrichia
