Tarsonemus granarius Lindquist, 1972 - (glossy grain mite)
This mite is common in stored grain and is regarded as a storage pest. Apart from grain dust, it has been reported to feed mainly on fungi and can be reared on fungus cultures. The number of mites found in grain correlates with the amount of fungi present in the grain. The adult mites are orange to yellow and have a size of 0.1-0.2 mm.
