This fungus is widely distributed and causes canker, necrosis and decline on grapevine, citrus and other crops. The symptoms on grapevine resemble the esca and dead arm diseases which can be also caused by various other fungi like Phaeoacremonium aleophilum or Diaporthe ampelina.
