Reptalus panzeri (Löw, 1883)

This polyphagous plant hopper has been reported from several parts of Europe and from surrounding regions. It is believed to be a vector of phytoplasma diseases which affect crops like grapevine, maize or potatoes (e.g. see Mitrovic et al., 2016). Like for other Cixiidae, eggs are laid in the soil and the nymphs feed on roots, sometimes attended by ants.
