Pyrenophora seminiperda (Brittleb. & D.B. Adam) Shoemaker 1966

This fungus causes seed infection and leaf spot in temperate grassland and also infects cereals. Although it kills seeds it is not considered an economically important pathogen of cereals. Some strains have been studied as possible biocontrol agents against invasive grass weeds, see Pyrenophora seminiperda (weed pathogen).
