Pyrenophora seminiperda (weed pathogen) (Brittleb. & D.B. Adam) Shoemaker 1966

This fungus causes seed infection and leaf spot in temperate grassland. Some strains have been studied as possible biocontrol agents against invasive grass weeds like Bromus tectorum.

It also infects cereals, but is not considered an economically important pathogen of cereals, see Pyrenophora seminiperda (as cereal pathogen).
