Pseudofusicoccum Mohali, Slippers & M.J. Wingf. 2006

The genus is found in tropical and sub-tropical regions and contains 7 species of fungi. They have been often isolated from dying branches and Pseudofusicoccum stromaticum has been reported to cause wilting of branches and dieback on mango trees (Marques et al., 2012). However, other species are endophytes (Phillips et al., 2013). The species are similar to those of the genus Fusicoccum, but the conidia are more cylindrical and are enclosed in a mucous sheath. No sexual forms have so far been found.
