Podosphaera tridactyla (Wallr.) de Bary 1870

The fungus causes powdery mildew diseases of cherry, other Prunus species and other Rosaceae in Europe, Asia and Australia. Colonies develop mainly on the upper sides of the leaves, causing chlorotic and later necrotic patches. Dark chasmothecia develop in the colonies that are about 80-90 µm in diameter and have 2-4 appendages. They contain elliptical ascospores, around 20-30 x 15 µ in size.
