First report of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne arenaria on cheeseweed mallow (Malva parviflora) in the United States
Plant Disease 96 (2), 296-296
Abstract: During 2010, cut flower fields in Florida, U.S.A. were surveyed for weeds as potential host of plant pathogenic nematodes. In one field, cheeseweed mallow (Malva parviflora) plants were observed with root-galling symptoms. The nematode Meloidogyne arenaria was found associated with the root galls. Identification was based on their esterase phenotype and DNA analysis.
