Candidatus Phytoplasma trifolii Hiruki and Wang, 2004 - (clover proliferation phytoplasma)

This phytoplasma is widespread and infects a variety of plants and crops, apart from clover. These include potatoes, tomatoes, green pepper and egg plants. Symptoms consist, among others, of witches’ broom, dwarfing, yellowing, and decreased flowering. The phytoplasma belongs to 16SrVI phytoplasma subgroup A.
