Phyllosticta musarum (Cooke) Aa, 1973
The fungus is found in Asia and is one of several species causing the freckle disease of banana (e.g. see also Phyllosticta maculata). It is found in tropical parts of Asia and has conidia 13–20×8–11 μm in size, with a 1–3 μm thick sheath, and apical appendages up to 20 μm long (Wong et al., 2012).
