Oligonychus ununguis (Jacobi) - (spruce spider mite)

This mite is widely distributed in temperate regions and a pest of conifers and fagaceous trees. It sucks the needles and covers them with webbing. Needles attacked by the mites become yellowish or brownish and drop prematurely. Heavy infestations can kill seedlings and small trees. There are 5-8 generations per year and the mite overwinters in the egg stage.
