Nigrospora oryzae (Berk. & Broome 1873) Petch 1924
The fungus infects rice, maize, grasses and a large variety of other crops and plants. E.g. it causes lint rot of cotton. The conidia are brown or black, smooth, spherical to subspherical and single-celled, with a diameter of approximately 10-15 μm.
