Neocosmospora falciformis (Carrión) L. Lombard & Crous 2015
This fungus is widely distributed. It has been reported as a pathogen of several crops like beans or onion, but also as a pathogen of vertebrates, including humans (e.g. see Edupuganti et al., 2011). On infected plants, it causes root or bulb rot, followed by leaf chlorosis, stunting, necrosis, wilting, and often plant death. For a taxonomic review see Sandoval-Denis et al. (2019).
