Miscanthus sacchariflorus (weed) (Maxim.) Benth. & Hook. f. ex Franch. - (Amur silver grass)

This plant grows to a height of 2.5 m with soft, white inflorescence. The seeds are dispersed by wind.

The grass is native to eastern Asia, but has been introduced into North America and Europe as an ornamental. In some areas it has escaped cultivation and become invasive, forming dense single species stands (Schnitzler & Essl, 2015). It colonizes roadsides, disturbed habitats and grassland.
