Melinis repens (weed) (Willd.) Zizka - (rose Natal grass)
This grass is believed to be native to Sub-Saharan Africa. The long hairs on the inflorescences are often pinkish, giving the panicles a reddish appearance. It has been introduced as an ornamental into other regions and has become invasive in some areas, e.g. in warmer parts of the Americas. It suppresses native plants and affects crops like cereals or cotton.
